Of the 30 statistically significant pathways identified by KEGG analysis, the Alzheimer’s disease and Toll-like receptor signaling pathways were the most important signaling pathways that may explain how p-tau levels in spinal fluid are associated with MMSE scores, particularly in the context of the role that microglial cells play in tau pathology. Here, MAPT is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
