Significantly higher numbers of Foxp3+ cells were detected in both CHC and oral lichen planus compared to SqP (Dunn’s post hoc test, connective tissue: ρ = 0.011 for CHC vs. SqP and p < 0.001 for LP vs. SqP; Dunn’s post hoc test, epithelium: p = 0.003 for CHC vs. SqP and ρ < 0.001 for LP vs. SqP). Here, FOXP3 is linked to oral lichen planus.
