Recently, Vancauwenberghe et al. [44] showed that overexpression of a mutant isoform of the Ca2+ permeable ion channel transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily A member 1 (TRPA1) in CAFs promotes resistance to resveratrol-mediated apoptosis in prostate cancer cells, and that this occurs in a calcium-dependent manner. The gene discussed is TRPA1; the disease is prostate cancer.
