As the occurrence and the features of cortical microgliosis in the ALS mouse model hSOD1G93A remain an open question, we performed a confocal analysis of motor cortex microglia cells in WT and hSOD1G93A mice at 90 days of age (onset of symptoms) by immunolabeling of the microglial marker ionized calcium-binding adaptor molecule 1 (Iba1). The gene discussed is AIF1; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
