In vivo studies using a mouse model of breast cancer showed TAMs weaken the cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8)+ T-cell activation and proliferation through IL-10, yet removal of TAMs from mammary adenocarcinomas with colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R) signaling agonist not only increased antitumor CD8+ T-cell immunity but also improved chemosensitivity [48,49].
