CD209 and viral infectious disease: The results showed that both the nanocarbon platforms (SWCNTs, MWCNTs or SWCNHs) and the multivalent glycan display (glycodendrimers or glycofullerens) strongly influenced the glyconanomaterials’ ability to interact with DC-SIGN and prevent viral infection: glycoconjugates based on MWCNTs functionalized with glycofullerenes were found to be the most potent inhibitors, with IC50 values as low as 0.37 μg/mL.
