S100A8 and infection: Regarding infections by H. pylori and EBV, we can observe that the presence of the bacterium was significant (p < 0.0001): 82.8% of the patients presented with infection by H. pylori, and 61.9% (p < 0.0001) of the patients had the virulence conferred by the presence in the genome of the bacterium of the cagA gene.
