Two Abs are used in lung cancer: bevacizumab, a recombinant humanized monoclonal IgG1 antibody that neutralizes VEGF’s biologic activity through a steric inhibition of its binding to VEGF receptor; and ramucirumab, a recombinant human monoclonal IgG1 antibody with high affinity for the extracellular domain of VEGFR-2, inhibiting ligand binding (VEGF-A, -C, and -D) and activation of downstream pro-angiogenic pathways [33] (Table 1).
