It is also important to note that while mechanisms regulating the vasoreactivity in conduit vessels versus resistance vessels are different, reports have revealed that TSP1/CD47 signaling leads to resistance vascular dysfunction and vasculopathy (e.g., in pulmonary arteries and femoral resistance arteries) in the same manner as systemic vasculature, i.e., by hampering vasodilation and promoting vasoconstriction [8,13].
