P2RY12 and central nervous system cancer: Complementing imipramine with anticoagulant ticlopidine, which blocks the purinergic receptor P2Y12, can stimulate autophagy-associated cell death in glioma cells via the EPAC branch of the cAMP-signaling pathway, thus lowering cell viability in culture (LN229, LN71, LN443) and improving survival in glioma-bearing mice.
