T2D genome-wide association analysis meta-analysis revealed two IQ-motif-containing GAPs (IQGAP1 and IQGAP2), involved in cellular signaling, cytoskeletal organization, and GSIS [210] in the top 95th percentile for association with T2D; providing evidence for IQGAP2 contribution to insulin resistance [211]. This evidence concerns the gene IQGAP1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
