Previous studies have demonstrated that Th1 cells preferentially express Ccr5 and Cxcr3 chemokine receptors, which allow migration of these cells to the site of infection [31], corroborating our results showing upregulation of cxcl9, cxcl10 in the lungs; ccr5 in the lungs and spleen of infected WT and Gal-3 KO animals and in the brain of WT animals with cryptococcosis. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL10 and cryptococcosis.
