ALB and fibrosis: Our results that T1 relaxation times of liver parenchyma correlate to the serum marker of liver synthesis albumin in both cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic patients and—in a selected subgroup—even better compared to the surrogate marker of gadoxetate disodium uptake in the hepatobiliary phase took us to the conclusion, that fibrosis is not the only important factor leading to altered relaxation times in patients with impaired liver function.
