Saha and co-workers observed that cancer prostate cell lines (human PC3; DU145; LNCaP and murine HMVP2) treated with 6-shogaol, showed decreased levels of several signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and NF-κB-regulated target genes including cyclin D1 [14]. The gene discussed is CCND1; the disease is cancer.
