Studies have shown that timosaponin AIII can induce the apoptosis of a variety of tumor cells, such as breast cancer and colorectal cancer cells, by activating the ATM/Chk2 and p38 MAPK signaling pathways, inducing autophagy, activating Caspase-4/9, and blocking the cell cycle [2,29,30]. This evidence concerns the gene CASP4 and breast cancer.
