Increased gene expression was observed in a cluster of chromatin and chromosome modulators (KAT2A and TERT), regulators of symmetric cell division (NUMB and PARD6A), osteogenic differentiation (FGFR1, IGF1, IGFR1, and VDR), self-renewal (SOX1), cancer stem cell markers (ALDH1A1 and CD24), stemness loss (PITCH1), migration and metastasis (IL8 and SNAI1) and pluripotency (NANOG and POU5F1). This evidence concerns the gene SOX1 and cancer.
