In addition, promoter analysis of the MAGEA12 signature genes showed that the transcription factor FOXA1 may regulate the expression of many of the MAGEA12 signature genes; thus, we demonstrated that FOXA1 was strongly expressed in breast cancer cell lines and an investigation of FOXA1 binding at the whole-genome level using ChIP-seq showed that FOXA1 occupied the promoters of many MAGEA12 signature genes. Here, MAGEA12 is linked to breast cancer.
