The percentage of CD16+ cells expressing CD163 (median = 16.01%, IQR = 14.05–18.12) was higher (p < 0.01) than the percentage of CD14++ cells expressing this surface molecule (median = 12.46%, IQR = 11.88–14.63) 24 h after stroke, but not at a later time-point (i.e., 48 h after the insult). Here, CD163 is linked to stroke disorder.
