CREBBP and cancer: Notably, a recent global chromatin profiling study showed that truncating mutations of CREBBP or EP300 within their TAZ2 domain correlate with increased levels of histone H3 acetylated at lysines 27 and 18 (H3K27ac and H3K18ac) in a number of cancer cell lines derived from different cancer types, suggesting that these mutations activate the enzymatic activity of CBP/p300 [38].
