Strong evidence has been implicated that the circCLEC16A’s parental gene CLEC16A plays important role in autoimmunity, and the variation in CLEC16A was associated with multiple immune-mediated diseases, such as type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and systemic lupus erythematosus [53,54,55,56,57]. This evidence concerns the gene CLEC16A and multiple sclerosis.
