CAT and neoplasm: Different studies have reported that tumor cells present a common OS profile that can be summarized by a decrease in antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) and an increase in glutathione peroxidase (GPx), accompanied by high levels of lipid peroxidation products and the oxidative DNA damage products such as 8-oxo-7,8-2′-dihydro-deoxiguanosine (8-oxo-dG) [7,8].
