Given that TOP2A amplification almost exclusively occurs in HER2-amplified breast cancers and that TOP2A is the primary target of doxorubicin [30,31], we speculate as to the existence of a miR-30/HER2/TOP2A connection, which may result in increased sensitivity to doxorubicin treatment and subsequently to better survival. The gene discussed is TOP2A; the disease is breast carcinoma.
