Among phosphaplatins, the compound [Pt(dihydrogenpyrophosphato)(1R,2R-DACH)] (3), although exhibiting reduced cellular accumulation with respect to cisplatin in cisplatin- and carboplatin-resistant human ovarian cancer cells, unlike cisplatin, was able to overexpress fas and fas-related transcription factors as well as some proapoptotic genes (such as Bak and Bax) in treated cells [20].
