Although PAR2 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of several cancers, including lung, skin, stomach, ovary, kidney and colon [25,26,27,28,29], and mounting in vitro studies suggested a role for PAR2 in cancer development, including cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis [30,31], only a limited number of studies of PAR2 in the HCC are currently available. This evidence concerns the gene F2RL1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
