ASPM and cancer: As illustrated in Figure 7A, the prognostic significance of these predicted circRNA-centric networks was evident from key cancer pathways molecules in these networks are predicted to reside in; the experimental demonstration of tumorigenic/metastatic phenotypes of the master/key nodal circRNAs; as well as the relevant cancer-related mechanism, through which the nodal circGPC3 cirRNA acts as a sponge of miR-378a-3p to alter the expression of ASPM (a cancer molecule [37]), leading to the modulation of tumorigenesis.
