Furthermore, as shown in Figure 4(D,E), rats in the MCAO group showed higher levels of iNOS and COX-2 in the brain tissue than rats in the Sham group (p < 0.01), and MCAO rats treated with PTH presented lower levels of iNOS (p < 0.05) and COX-2 (p < 0.01), further verifying the prominent anti-inflammatory effects of PTH against ischaemic stroke.
