A large number of studies have demonstrated that the progression of breast cancer is closely related to a variety of potassium channels, as the overexpression of many such channels has been reported in breast cancer (Hemmerlein et al., 2006; Dookeran et al., 2017), and found to be related to the poor prognosis of patients (Brevet et al., 2009b; Oeggerli et al., 2012; Faouzi et al., 2016). The gene discussed is KCNA3; the disease is breast cancer.
