NFATC2 and diabetes mellitus: A post-hoc analysis from the DREAM (Diabetes REduction Assessment with ramipril and rosiglitazone Medication) trial that consist of 4,197 participants showed higher rate of roziglitazone-induced edema (OR = 1.89 [95% CI = 1.47–2.42], P = 0.017) in subjects homozygous for the C allele at rs6123045, a variant at the Nuclear Factor of Activated T-cells, Cytoplasmic, Calcineurin-Dependent 2 (NFATC2) locus (Bailey et al., 2010).
