CXCL2 and inflammation: In contrast to the in vivo HDM‐induced airway inflammation and RV‐induced exacerbation of allergic airway inflammation models (Figure 6B), however consistent with the RV‐induced airway inflammation model (Figure 4C), a significantly increased expression of Cxcl1 and Cxcl2 was detected in Mir146a/b−/‐ mouse splenocytes (Figure 6D) in response to HDM alone but also in the case of HDM and RV‐A1b co‐stimulation.
