In a recent MR study, variants in NAFLD susceptibility genes with lipid-lowering effect (PNPLA3: patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing-3; and TM6SF2: transmembrane 6 superfamily member 2) were found to have a protective effect against CHD while variants in another susceptibility gene with lipid-raising effect (GCKR: glucokinase regulatory protein) were associated with CHD. Here, PNPLA3 is linked to coronary artery disorder.
