The tripartite motif (TRIM) proteins, characterized by the RING, B-Box and coiled-coil (RBCC) domains at the N-terminus, interact with p53 to regulate cell proliferation/death and polymorphisms in Tripartite Motif Family-Like 2 (TRIML2) that is structurally or functionally similar to TRIM14 were associated with Alzheimer’s disease Risk [119]. This evidence concerns the gene TRIM14 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
