Next, we investigated whether CCA-1.1 also promotes the inhibition of cancer cells migration and its involvement in MMPs activities against TNBC and HER2+ breast cancer cells, considering that numerous studies have revealed that MMPs (specifically MMP-9 and MMP-2) are upregulated on these breast cancer cell models and secreted to the ECM, which in turn permits cancer cells to invade the neighboring tissues (Li et al., 2017; Lv et al., 2018; Nanda et al., 2013; Zhou et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene MMP9 and breast carcinoma.
