BRCA1 and breast cancer: The second CPG (updated in 2010) recommended mammography screening for the general population of women aged 50-74 years; and that MRI screening should be offered to high-risk women with a history of invasive breast cancer, ionising radiation exposure from breast cancer treatment, carriers of BRCA1 and 2 gene, a first degree family history of breast cancer and diseases such as Hodgkin’s disease (Ministry of Health Malaysia, 2010a).
