A team found that the spleen Treg of ApoE−/− mice showed a unique non-inhibitory IFNγ+ Th1/Treg phenotype, indicating that with the development of atherosclerosis, the immunosuppressive phenotype of Treg cells disappeared, revealing the damage of phenotype transformation of Treg cells in atherosclerosis (51). The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is atherosclerosis.
