ACE2 and lung carcinoma: Herath et al. (2007) found that ACE2 suppressed liver injury and fibrosis progression in a murine model (Osterreicher et al., 2009). ACE2 gene expression is altered in many cancers (Chai et al., 2020), and it has been associated with tumor cell proliferation and metastasis, such as pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and renal cancer (Feng et al., 2010; Zhou et al., 2011; Yu et al., 2016; Narayan et al., 2020; Yang et al., 2020).
