Emerging evidence showed that up-regulation of LpCat1 promotes cancer cell proliferation and metastasis, while knocking down LpCat1 could inhibit growth of cancer cells by inducing cell cycle arrest at G0/G1 phase, which may serve as a novel target of aggressive progression in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), renal clear cell carcinoma and lung adenocarcinoma (9–11). The gene discussed is LPCAT1; the disease is lung adenocarcinoma.
