HSPA8 and coronary artery disorder: He et al. (2010) identified four tag SNPs (rs2236659, rs2276077, rs10892958, and rs1461496) of HSPA8 and evaluated their association with the susceptibility to CHD. The findings showed that the promoter SNP rs2236659 was associated with the susceptibility to CHD, and the carriers of the C allele of rs2236659 possessed a decreased CHD risk. By contrast, rs10892958 did not exhibit any association with the susceptibility to CHD, which contradicted our conclusion that the TT and CT+TT genotypes and T allele frequency of rs2236658 were significantly lower in the CAD cases than in the controls.
