However, when we stratified for HLA-C1/C2 heterozygous individuals, we observed a significant increase in risk for psoriasis for individuals harboring two copies of KIR2DL2, a result that remained true even after adjusting for the effect of the canonical psoriasis high-risk alleles, HLA-C*06:02 (a C2 allele) and HLA-C*12:03 (a C1 allele). The gene discussed is HLA-C; the disease is psoriasis.
