Therefore, since increased expression of Ripk1 and Ripk3 was detected in the brains of twitcher and neuronopathic Gaucher mice, and the course of experimental neuronopathic Gaucher disease was modified in mice with ablation of Ripk3 (44), we investigated the involvement of Ripk1 and related molecules in the pathogenesis of Krabbe disease. This evidence concerns the gene RIPK1 and Krabbe disease.
