Notably, among the MYC downstream target genes that were positively correlated with its expression in human patients were several of the genes that were also validated in murine lung fibroblasts: HSP90AA1, HSPD1, ODC1, and HSPE1 (Figure 6D, Figure 6—figure supplement 1), suggesting that stromal MYC-driven gene signatures play a functional role in human breast cancer.
