LPA and triple-A syndrome: The finding of a continuous association of Lp(a) with AAA is consistent with previous meta-analysis of small studies showing that that Lp(a) may be associated with AAA.31 Recent phase 2 trial data show that the drug AKCEA-APO(a)-LRx (also called TQJ230) reduces Lp(a) substantially, with 80% to 90% reductions in patients with established CVD and high Lp(a) levels, and phase 3 trials are underway for CVD prevention.32
