The results of this study confirmed findings from previous studies that showed MUC4 expression in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) of the pancreas [19] and pancreatic cancer [20,21] with increased MUC4 expression in advanced stage of the disease [13]. The gene discussed is MUC4; the disease is pancreatic intraductal papillary-mucinous neoplasm.
