LAMP3 and airway hyperresponsiveness: We applied a well-described model of experimental allergic asthma [25,35] (Fig 5A) that is characterized by impaired lung physiology arising on the basis of allergic airway inflammation, mucus hyperproduction, and airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), but provides the advantage that LAMP3-expressing AT2 cells remain largely untouched by the induced disease.
