Most ST9 genomes carried hemolysin genes, including hlb (91.1%; n = 174), hld (99.5%; n = 190), hlgA (100%; n = 191), hlgB (100%; n = 191), hlgC (100%; n = 191), and hly/hla (99.5%; n = 190), which have been shown to play an important role in skin colonization and infection (18).
