In advanced colorectal cancers, more than 50 different BRAF mutations have been documented for CRC, with 90% consisting of a change from thymine to single base adenine at position 1799, located in exon 15 and producing a substitution at codon 600 that replaces glutamine with valine (V600E; Wang et al., 2017).
