In our study, we showed that PCGF1 binds to promoters of the CRC stem cell markers CD133 and CD44 and activates their transcription by increasing H3K4me3 and decreasing H3K27me3 marks on the promoters, which is consistent with previous studies showing that PCGF1 is involved in epigenetic regulation of gene expression. The gene discussed is PCGF1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
