A recent large‐scale ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS)‐induced genetic screen in Drosophila identified loss of protein phosphatase 6 (PP6) as cooperating with oncogenic Ras to induce tumor cell proliferation and invasion,4 suggesting that PP6 serves as a tumor‐suppressor in RAS‐related cancers. The gene discussed is PPP6C; the disease is neoplasm.
