CRP and fasciitis: On MRI, deep fascial thickening, fascial fluid pockets, heterogeneous fascial enhancement, fascial gas pockets, and peripheral band-like limited muscle edema and/or enhancement in a swollen extremity or trunk are suggestive of necrotizing fasciitis in the setting of increased serology markers of CRP, ESR, and white cell count (Fig. 8) [14, 15, 57, 58].
