Zhu et al. (2012) noticed that longer OS and DFS was significantly associated with the downregulation of gelsolin protein for squamous cell lung cancer, which correlates with our findings and results reported by Yang et al. (2004).9, 24 It is possible to infer that gelsolin immunopositivity could be a guide to identify LSCC patients with shorter OS and DFS. The gene discussed is GSN; the disease is squamous cell lung carcinoma.
