The Clock rs6850524 (upstream transcript variant) in H/Ls and the Bmal1 rs11022775 (upstream transcript variant) in AAs were both associated with reduced susceptibility to dyslipidemia, whereas the Cry2 SNP rs2292912 was associated with a significant 1.33-fold increased risk for dyslipidemia in AAs, but there is no prior report of Cry2 SNP association with dyslipidemia. This evidence concerns the gene BMAL1 and metabolic syndrome.
